I am the ASSASSIN - My fire power is my Nikon, no harm will come to you but I will make memories! My real name is Rod or, to the ones close to me, Rocket. I reside in Airlie Beach, Whitsundays, Australia, where we have no winter, just a cooler season. Not far from me is Whitehaven Beach, which has been voted the best beach in the world! The Great Barrier Reef is also on my doorstep. People say to me “What type of photographer are you?” and while I know what I want to say i.e.“one with a camera”, it really just comes down to what day are you are having! I simply just enjoy taking images, irrespective of what is in front of me - I just get lost in the moment. But, if you want to be real about it, the female form would be what I enjoy the most. I was taught by my father in the art of photography and have been a wedding photographer, loving that style of photography. But, when I was 30, I remember going to a boudoir session, taught by a good friend of the family, and had never seen the female form portrayed this way before. I had tears in my eyes, and I knew then what I wanted to do! Photography is my passion (God I hate that word) ……it’s my life! I trained as a chef, and I believe that when a good chef puts his food on a plate it becomes a work of art – and I feel the same way as a photographer! I try and make each image a work of art, to be enjoyed by many and viewed for years to come! Unsurprisingly, food photography has become another aspect of my life - but sometimes the old chef in me wants to rearrange the plate….! My style of photography will not be to everyone’s taste, but the way I look at it, when I stand before the Pearly Gates and am asked what I did with the talents given to me, I will be really proud to showcase my life’s work!
